Not that I use the radio unless I'm parked up waiting for someone, but the speakers are rubbish and the sound really distorted. Has anybody upgraded the speakers and if so what do you recommend ?

The radio/cd would always struggle with the 98db's of the green godess !
Geneva 2016 plus 8' The Green Godess' 4 side exits .

I upgraded to having a powered subwoofer under a false panel in the passenger footwell and some new Alpine speakers with a Pioneer head unit
No distortion and I can crank it up pretty loud and control the volume and frequency of the bass

Agree, the standard set up is inadequate, unless the car is parked up in the garage with the engine off. However, with a 600w amp driving the front speakers, and a 300w sub in the rear, Jimmy Weatherspoon sounds cool.

No distortion and I can crank it up pretty loud and control the volume and frequency of the bass That is more or less the same setup that Morgan supplied as standard on the ARP4. I run it off my iPod, but it still isn't loud enough above 40mph - is there any way of listening to music at speed?

... - is there any way of listening to music at speed? Headphones? They even keep your ears warm but isolate you from the world outside... I remember a M.Benz option with speakers in the headrests some time ago. That could be a way to go.

I keep thinking about putting a pair of speakes in the panels behind the doors. This is where Morgan used to put them before the length of the doors was increased but I think it would still be possible to put some small speakers there.

Obviously slightly different 'cause it's an Aero8 but,like Stewart,I have added a powered sub-woofer to my audio set up.  It is hidden beneath the alloy passenger footrest.The holes have acoustic cloth covering them to allow the sound to escape!  Subs are non-directional so the sound permeates the cabin quite nicely.It gives a subtle background to the sound scape without being too overpowering. I also upgraded the speakers by adding rears (which were not fitted originally).I went for -  JBL Control One, 2-Way, 100mm Bookshelf Satellite Audio Monitor Speakers - fitted horizontally and so that they can be easily removed. I also have some rather nice 'Vibe' speakers with a polished alloy basket/surround which I bought with the intention of fitting in the rear bulkhead.I have not however, summoned up the courage to cut the necessary holes yet....
