I think that the air intake pipe in the picture shown has a priority for higher pressure, or at least avoiding underpressure and probably not for getting the coldest air. If you have a similar airbox I would give it a try.

Has anyone removed the Airbox and installed a K&N cone filter? The airbox look very restrictive.
