Does anyone know what the material used for the side windows on the newer trads is? The post on cleaning/restoring them elsewhere suggests it's acrylic but it is expressed with some uncertainty. The material seems to be thinner and seems clearer on my current car than my earlier Morgan which I am fairly sure was acrylic so I wonder if it could be polycarbonate on this one.

The reason for the enquiry is that the "handle" has fallen out on the driver's side leaving a rectangular hole. This was itself a surprise as I thought it was bonded to the surface rather than glued into a hole.

Sourcing either material in a suitable thickness is easy enough but I would prefer to use the right stuff.

BTW I even found a firm that would cut to size, although I expect this size is not what they had in mind

this arrive also to mine i refix it using strong glue for fix the handle to the "glass" and use cristal silicon around the handle almost two years it's like this and no more trouble

PS: i didn't loose the handle when it fall

Dave, you can buy spare "handles" from your dealer or the factory spares shop.
I've replaced both mine over time.

I was hoping that Cain....Wolf Performance....might have taken up my hint some time ago and produced some lovely alloy replacements! 😉

Richard Thorne had one in stock. They didn't know the part number and couldn't find it in the official list so it's free unless they find it's expensive when they do find the part. Not bad.

The fit is good vertically but there is some slop front to back. Araldite have a product (crystal) which claims to be suitable for plexi glass. I should be able to use it to fill the small gap which super glue, which was my first thought, wouldn't do.

Looking at the replacement there is no way it would have fallen outwards so either it fell off while the door was open or it's in the car. I had a good look but I can't find it, not that it matters now.

Happened to me - the handle should fall into the car, as it has a ledge cut into it. "Serious Glue" fixed it and never budged since.
