Surely "mundane" = common. "special" = rare. In other words the boxter would be special if built in the same numbers as the Morgan. That would make seeing one or riding in one that much more of a event.
I'm not knocking the boxter. Its way more of a car in an engineering sense than a morgan, as indeed are the typical mass produced family saloons. Its also way more common and far less quirky. I think this is a gross over-simplification - 'Special' is not just to do with rarity, whilst that is an important element (though with Ferrari heading for producing 10,000 cars a year are they still 'special'!) it also incorporates ability, price when new, marque perception, critical acclaim, etc, etc. It is as Adrian says very much a subjective subject, though I also think that quite often special cars have some flaws, and Morgan's certainly score on this criteria! No one could deny that a Porsche GT3, or GT3 RS are special, as also imho is the Cayman GT4? When the 911 R came out one was immediately sold in the UK for £1 million, someone thought that car was pretty special and they produced 991 of these - circa Morgan's total production in a year...

That aside, there is something a little more unique about a Morgan. Sorry, unique or not unique. You're quite right.... I is normal quite good with Eglish and things. There is some debate whether 'very' unique, 'more' unique etc can be used, but I tend to agree with you, they cannot. I was trying to make the point that there are quite a few cars that could be called individual or unique, a Morgan perhaps epitomises the expression. It is unique to look at and always an event to drive.

Years ago I had a Renault 18 estate. A commuter/workhorse/family+ luggage carrier. Loved it. Good ride, easy maintenance, plenty of room. Not a classic or fantasy/dream car by any stretch of the imagination but it fitted in well. Not a sporty car but capable. Not a Morgan replacement. I would drift towards Lotus, Z4, Boxster possibly for that. I enjoy the Morgan experience but could live with a modern car.

I................ I realised that it was emotionally un-involving. It was just too good........... Perfection can seem dull...I know this seems like a contradiction, but the human mind is a strange place. I can see how Porsche, and some other brands, have ended up producing wonderfully engineered products but in doing so have eliminated the "character" that develops an emotional bond with the owner. Morgans are flawed, in many ways, but owners either love them for what they are, or find they cannot live with the flaws. It is interesting that the C43 has an ability to emotionally involve the owner, despite its mechanical excellence. I'm not sure why this should be, yet, but it is great fun finding out. Was it not The Beautiful South that sang "And everyone is blonde And everyone is beautiful And when blondes and beautiful are multiple They become so dull and dutiful And when faced with dull and dutiful They fire red warning flares Battle-Khaki personality With red underwear" Sums up the vast majority of perfected mainstream cars..

Electric motor hung out the back.... Well the battery pack would be the candidate to go in the front boot to keep the front wheels on the floor. Previously I used a big 56lb bag of spuds. Works well but leaves the wrong smell to sell the car.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Years ago I had a Renault 18 estate. A commuter/workhorse/family+ luggage carrier. Loved it. Good ride, easy maintenance, plenty of room. It's a comedic tragedy of epic proportions that the actual qualities and capabilities of a car come a very poor second to the badge on the bonnet when it comes to getting approval from the motoring cognoscenti. There are loads of cars out there that are excellent vehicles, with character, personality, and endearing features aplenty, but because they have the wrong badge they will always be overlooked by those obsessed with prancing horses or propellors or 3-pointed stars. On the other had, it enables those who like cars for their own sake rather than the image they project to be able to buy some stonking vehicles for not much money at all. Marvellous.
