But if the cars are pre registered before conversion....there should be no problem with the auto boxes.

That said, I'm not sure that they are still making the conversion.

Really? That was short lived.
But, I'd hazard a guess that the masses were not exactly beating a path to their door... smile

I came across a write up and review of the Morgan Plus 4 converted by Vitesse to automatic.,which was a interesting article. I'm not sure how many were sold/converted as I've only come across one Plus 4 converted to automatic in all my searches.over the years. So maybe not that popular back then, but times change.

Has anyone any experience of these cars, and if so what are they like. to live with and drive?

Would there be much demand for them now as we have the PLUS FOUR, SIX and Supersport automatics in the product line up, has that made an automatic Morgan more widely acceptable and has it potentially widen or narrowed the market for such conversions of a classic Morgan.

I cant help thinking that classic Morgan owners maybe a little set in their ways and there is still no demand for such vehicles .Thoughts anyone.

It was a very expensive conversion and replacing the Mx5 box, which is a nice box only makes sense if you wanted to to continue driving a Trad Morgan, maybe with leg issues.

The company who offered the conversion stopped advertising in Miscellany quite a few years ago, I suspect very little demand

That was a manual Plus 4 with electric clutch overide Graham. It was operated by proportional control lever on gear knob. Unfortunately it failed and despite many attempts could not be economically repaired. He's now on his second Plus Four auto.

Thanks Richard. I think he still had the modified Plus 4 all those years ago when I trekked across to visit the motor museum. smile
