This one was kept quiet. In the September Miscellany there are details of a new automatic Plus 4 using the Mazda MX5 automatic gearbox. According to the information the 0-60 acceleration is 1.2 seconds quicker than standard which I think owes more to the conservatively stated figure of the standard car rather than any miracle of engineering.
Not for me, yet, but I am sure will be of interest to a number of potential Morgan owners.

That was a manual Plus 4 with electric clutch overide Graham. It was operated by proportional control lever on gear knob. Unfortunately it failed and despite many attempts could not be economically repaired. He's now on his second Plus Four auto.
Thanks Richard. I think he still had the modified Plus 4 all those years ago when I trekked across to visit the motor museum. smile
