I'm reading on t'internet that it needs a lot of buffing when applied - this reduces any smearing.

In my experience, once you've used the wipers for more than a few minutes, the effectiveness of the Rain-X is greatly reduced, but without the wipers it works very well indeed.

The problem I have with rain x is that, when you do use the wipers, it smears beyond belief. How do you all cope with that? Nick I buy Rain-X by the dozen on Amazon.com. Buff with a paper towel. If it smears, clean window with RainX and buff with towel. About 3 coats. With a lot of Rain-X I don't need Wipers. But if dirty or not treated regularly the Wipers smear.

Rain-X doesn't seem to last long. Great when first applied then the wipers are not needed unless a downpour. Once the wipers are on a while it deteriorates. I have both concentrate and a top up spray.

Wipe Fairy Liquid on to the wiper blades, works a treat on reducing smearing (and a lot cheaper than commercial windscreen treatments)

If you set the blades in the vertical position (I turn off the ignition in mid stroke) you can then remove the wiper arms and use a pair of pliers or something to grip the wiper arm to twist it slightly one way or the other. I have done that and it helps a lot. The standard blades are not very good and I have made a set using Bosch blades for the doner bits. Someone on here suggested it a while back. I have also found that the stroke of the blades is about 5° more than it should be. It is one of those things that considering the number of units used by Morgan every year should not be impossible to order the correctly geared wiper motors.
