My choke valve (1984 4/4 with 1600 cvh eng carb) does not work any more. The car needs a lot of gas, not to stall. Looks like there is an electrical wire going to it. Anyone knows how it works? Just bimetal or? Diagram?

I think you mean the anti over run valve. It is powered from the ignition and there should be 12V on the terminal when the ignition is on. The connector can loosen with age. Worth checking that there is 12V there when the ignition is on and also that the connector has not become loose.

12v on both connectors. :-(
Has anyone changed the autochoker themselves?
Is it hard?

You can get a manual choke conversion kit for these carbs. It shouldn't be a difficult job.
