I don't think the aero is as windy as a classic so you don't need quite such a solid level of defence. It is more the draught around the ears and neck. I tend to use the Series 2 with the top down unless the rain is heavy, you can enjoy the sidepipes better that way. If you are on the motorway you can even drive with the top down in the rain to a good degree. You get a few "mad as a badger" looks but that becomes part of the fabric of Morgan ownership. The main problem seems to be around the neck and ears. I have started to use layering as mentioned above for most of the year. I only use the jacket when it is really cold. Mountain Warehouse offer a nice Merino zip/high neck top which is very comfy and good quality. It also has the benefit of longer arms with thumb holes. Thanks for fixing that Graham, how did you fix it ? I posted the whole img link from photo bucket as recommended, but just got the hyperlink with no picture. It's our Italian freind Alfio in the background Steve, Italian army helmet with lemon squeezer on top, a la Zaphod Beeblebrox  . You hook your thumb in and the ends stay down over your hands almost likefingerless gloves. Also some of their thermal underwear. They do some great outdoor/leisure/travel clothing, not cheap but I buy at sale time.

I have an Irvin, its brilliant especially the large upturned collar that stops the wind reversal from the windscreen striking the back of the head. Buying the garment from the old nissan huts at Thruxton is equally as good. They made adjustments for my wife's jacket and sent it on in the post.
i have a question though. How does it perform in the rain? does it need some sort of proofer to stop leather discolouration? Its a bit too big to have an overlayer as well.

Wherever you see a bunch of classic car enthusiasts, you'll easily spot the Morgan owners. It's like the Worshipful Company of Flying Jacket Owners annual outing..
They do seem to be the essential accessory for the discerning Morgan driver, and they do what they're supposed to very well. I think they're essential wear for chilly sidecreen off motoring mornings.
The downside is the bulk & the weight, of course. I find I can't wear mine with the hood up as it's simply too bulky, so unless it's freezing I compromise with a jacket that is lighter and equally as warm without the bulk.
Fashion sense with Morgan driver..? Some still wear the hated baseball cap.. Steve can you clarify what it is that is "too bulky"

I like heavy jackets. My Aero Leathers highwayman is nearly bulletproof, too. Regularly worn they get softer... The same jacket as mine Jens. I think it might well stop a 9mm 🙄 It does soften up when it warms up too and seems to shrug off rain. I love it.
