Good afternoon,

Does anybody have any recommendations regarding shipping cars from the US, someone who would look after / knowledge of, shipping Morgans.

Thank you.

I used a "Shipping Agent" (Susan) in New Jersey. I shipped a Morgan from Tacoma, Washington, USA to Southampton, UK and then from Southampton to Boston. It was trucked from New Jersey to Boston. The Shipping Company was Helingus that operates a fleet of Roll On Roll Off Ships.

The "Shipping Agent" takes care of all details including selecting a Shipping Company. After Your Morgan is dropped off at the Pier, You are at the mercy of the Pier workers and Deck Hands of the Ship. There are Insurance, but the "Deductible" is usually high enough for any light damage (under $1,000 US) and then Who did the damage, the Pier Worker, Deck Hand or Flat Bed truck?

The other method is to load Your Morgan into a Container. But You will not load (or an Agent) it. You will pay for cribbage to be installed and a Dock Hand will load it. I prefer the Roll On Roll off ships. They are in the business of shipping cars. About all insurance is good for is a catastrophe. Collision, fire, storm etc.

I had pictures etc when I shipped My Morgan and received My Morgan in Southampton. It was OK. Also pictures taken when I delivered it back to Southampton to be shipped to Boston. But a Friend received and inspected the Morgan. He did not notice that the rear bumper had been bent and then straightened. NO Matter the deductible!!!!!!!!!!

This is just My experience. No idea what others go through.

I will be happy to send You the name of My Shipping Agent - offline. But prepared, all You will get is a quote. One Morgan is not going to make Her day.

I was enquiring for another purpose last week.

UK to West Coast and return. Here is the company that quoted me. A friend recommended them as they have moved a posh car for him.

I have not used them. Thought it might help. Guide quote not detailed.

-------snip-------

Rate via RORO from Southampton to Port Hueneme, CA port would be approx. $3200
Rate via Shared Container London to LA warehouse would be approx. $3800

Please let me know if you have any questions

Best regards
Filip
