Hi Guys, can anybody recommend a good image host site for photos etc. I'm getting fed up with photobucket.

Thanks, David

David, I soldier on with photopail but my son in law who is a little less patient uses Google images and I don't hear him complaining.

I have tried to insert images in TM from Google Plus but I can't find any way to do it.

Fortunately I have my own domain and hosting service so I load photos there.

Thanks Peter, he doesn't post to forums so I didn't know that.

I would agree re Photobucket becoming a bit offensive in the advertising stakes. I was considering the same this week.

I do too, but the downside of that is that the storage and bandwidth have to be paid for.

Photobucket is free but I agree the excessive advertising is becoming a real pain. I've also had a slightly worrying email from them recently suggesting that I back up my pictures, my fear is that they are about to go the way of ImageShack and become a paid for service only.

Use your own webspace if you have it and link from there, no idiotic scripts that frame the images, or adverts to wade through and you have total control.

You need to explain that in a bit more detail for the benefit of most of us. What we space? And how do we link to it?

"Webspace" is essentially a website.

In the past Internet Service Providers would give you free webspace, but very few people actually wanted to create their own website so now most, if not all, ISP's have discontinued their webspace service (BT got rid of their years ago and Virgin a year or two back, I don't think Plusnet ever had it).

You can still get webspace of course and, as mentioned above, you'll then have complete freedom to upload and link to images on it. But it won't be free:

(You could set up a home webserver but that would be a bit excessive just to post images to a forum).
