Yes, trying to sort out a time when I can visit Coventry. It's much closer to me, but the cockpit will be modernised over what my Uncle used to fly, so the opportunity to see things closer to original is always of interest.
I have been in a couple of Vulcans, at Newark air museum and near Stratford. Didn't get into the pilot's seat - I'd never fit between the seats, but as former radio man, those rear facing seats have some interesting kit in the consoles grin2

Philip that's a great set of photos thumbs

Looking forward to B17 photos too, Draggin. smile

Climbed into one as an air cadet. Climb being the operative word. Steep angle when parked on the runway. Dakota not Vulcan.

Is it possible to see inside? In particular the cockpit?

Another one for you to visit is at Wings Museum near Gatwick:

Love seeing pictures of Morgans next to old warplanes smile

The nearby Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby ran a photoshoot last year where you could park your car next to their Lancaster - http://www.lincsaviation.co.uk/events/Special-Events/jane-and-her-little-friends.htm

I emailed them a couple of months ago to see if they were planning on running the event again this year. But sadly they are not frown

I have been in Just Jane!

When I visited a few years ago they had one seat left for the Taxy Run ( correct spelling!!).

So I sat in the wireless ops seat - where my Dad would have sat in WW2

Quite an emotional Run for me!

I red last month that they are ever hopeful of getting her Airborne again in the foreseeable future.

I understand the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Dakota will be taking part in a display at the Flywheel Festival at Bicester Heritage on Sunday, 25 June. You can save 20% on advance tickets at flywheelfestival.com/tickets/telegraph. Just going to book mine now! 🛫🛬
