I feel your pain..! I managed to scrape my rear wind backing the car into the garage not long after I'd bought it. So angry with myself, but it was just one of those things. It's there even now (and yes, I did point it out to the dealer last weekend..!)

Mine has chips in it. As the chaps have said, it is a medal of honour from usingnthe car as it should be.... I had a 1971 camper van before this... my favourite bit of it was the paint worn off the bottom of the drivers door window frame where countless arms had rested on if over the 46 years.
And if you are still wondering, go and watch the news of London yesterday and that'll put things into perspective....

Hi Nick, many thanks for the reply, Campervans do look very cool with battle scars I must say!!
As for the news in London yesterday, I guess posting none critical lads stuff on nice car forums like this helps us get out of the reality of what's going on in this world for an hour or two.

I have a beautiful wood steering wheel hanging in My garage. I replaced it with a fat, leather, 1987 Morgan wheel given to Me by a friend in Sydney, Australia.
I love this wheel, scars and all. It is comfortable with spokes located where I can see the speedometer and tach. My Morgans show the wear. I like the way they look. Faded paint and all. I am from the school that says grease protects. I just do not open the bonnet at Shows. I am not afraid to take a gravel road or drive in the rain or dust. It will wash off. But then I do not have a brand new Morgan. Maybe I would change My behavior if I did. But I doubt it!

kennyh, If you drive it, $hit will happen. Better to drive it and have fun then to only look at and polish it in the garage.

A friend and Morgan owner in Scotland bought a concourse car, like a jewel and beautiful. He is surrounded by many wonderful roads and all of them have loose gravel in at least some part. After thinking about it for a week he took it for a few hours blasting along these roads..... As he said better to get it over with than suffer 'death by a thousand cuts'.
As others have said these cars don't have damage and chips, they have Patina and memories, they don't leak fluids, they ooze character. They are unique and so are the owners, not one person you meet in a Morgan will point out a rub mark on another's car because we all have them and they are all evidence of interesting days full of memories. The only immaculate cars are garage queens.
