I phoned Morgan today asking for an update & was promised a call back but no one did. An email from the dealer later says my car will be delivered to them on Tues 6th & they want a couple of days to check it over. So maybe Fri 9th I'll get it or maybe not as various Morgan estimates have not been met. If I get it next week that will be over 11 weeks to fix. If they forget to charge me for the compensator would be good but fat chance of that.

I found another chassis crack today, not as serious as the others but worth checking out. I heard a new noise, a rattle on the over run particularly and from the back. finally traced it to a cracked through tab that connects the forward end of the rear bodywork to the rear end of the chassis, on the lower edge. It is just behind the rear exhaust support bracket. The front of the car is at the top of the photo. I hope that all makes sense.

Both the LH and RH tabs have cracked through and will require welding back and reinforcing. My finger is pointing to the crack in the photo. I have G56 exhausts that are a bit more weighty than standard but are well supported, the brackets are steady and undamaged, so I don't think that is a problem. The lower bodywork moves about more than it should with these brackets cracked through. Worth a check. It would be interesting to see if any others are cracked. My car is a 2013 one but the chassis was replaced in 2015 and it has done about 7000 miles with this chassis.

I'm sorry for you. I will check my 3W. If I'm right you have a 2015 spec chassis but this new frame has broken anyway.

Looking upwards at the rear of the silencer.
This is where the lower part of the wooden frame meets the steel chassis. To the left is the wooden fuel tank platform and to the right is the rear of the G56 exhaust. The red line by Ian's finger is the bodywork beading. One tab each side of the car.

They support the rear bodywork and the additional weight of luggage rack/luggage

I think a larger tab with a triangular gusset from the end of the tab back to the tube would have been better.
