I don't think you are alone in your "potholes at speed" technique; I know it is also favoured by myself, Potholes a slow speed can take the sump off!  At speed, probably would have extended the overall length a few cm.

Well, thanks to Terry at GEE who found me a used top leaf and definitely gets the very helpful prize. Fitted this afternoon. I think I will have to sort out a good pair of springs though in the longer term. I'll be a bit more cautious over the potholes until then, wasn't worried about the sump as it's a Dunnell modified one on my zetec and well out of the way.
May get round to the photos soon.

If you finish your SS before selling it, it will easily buy you a new 4/4 sports with factoy-fresh springs :-)

Frank Actually I was wondering about a tatty pre cat +8 if I finished it. For a new 4/4 with springs, I may have to get to work.

the only trouble is that she wont fit into my glove-box and it doesn't have a lid.........
