Still sceptical that it will get to market
Me too , I was told by a Tvr member that cars were being collected this March ! It never happened . I dont believe they have even leased the factory yet, never mind put any kit in it or trained up any staff And last time I looked on LinkedIn (a couple of months ago) there were only 3 poeple associated with the new TVR I do agree with Brian that £90K is a realistic price for the envisaged car but how many of the depositors will go through with a sale at that money?

The new timelines on the latest press realeases are this Launch at Goodwood, Sept with a static prototype which will feature some parts on the production model Fully functioning factory operational by mid 2018 Delivery of first cars before end of 2018 depositors were invited to Gordon's place for a presentation which showed a 3D mock up of the interior in two colours and a prototype seat Then a presentation on how to finance the car Strict confidentiality agreements signed I wish them well and this could be the new way to sell and launch an entirely new limited edition car in today's world but I'm still sceptical

While I wish then well, launching a new car is a bit of a stretch for the Goodwood Revival...a new TVR hasn't got a huge amount to do with pre'66 Similar comments have been made in the Goodwood forum. Actually around the periphery of the "Earls Court Motor Show" exhibit there are always a handful of manufacturers who bring their latest models. I imagine the cost of having a stand there is pretty hefty. ~iw

They must be borrowing up to their necks and I just don't see how it can survive long term with small numbers, one model and a tiny niche.

Lets all hope that they succeed, but they would have a better chance at 60k Even better at 50k, but when a Lotus Evora starts at £72k and the TVR is obviously a class above that £90k must be a realistic price imho. Really? I disagree But we shall see if the TVR ever appears and gets road tested. Not the first tests because they always glow for whatever car is being tested but when deliveries have been running for a year or so. Mind you they arent selling many Evoras at that price anyway.

The TVR factory was originally planned for Ebbw Vale to tie in with the Circuit of Wales. The CoW is in doubt. The people behind it are asking for huge sums from the Welsh Gov who have been severely criticised by the audit office for "mishandling and lack of diligence" over how the £9M already given has been used. There is a "smell of fish" in the air over the proposers of the project, a documentary on Welsh TV a few weeks back raising serious concerns. The CEO was evasive, was involved in companies being fed money for feasability studies (bias?) and spending £500k of Gov grants to buy a motorcycle business that went busy. To me it looks like another Delorean scenario. So, as TVR don't seem to have a definite factory site yet I am becoming dubious about the project. Aston have a site at RAF St Athan under development, a big Aston event took place several weeks back there. But Aston are an existing company, albeit not higely profitable if at all. It would be nice for TVR to be back but I am not holding my breath.

Apparently they have taken over an existing factory in Rassau, Ebbe Vale as of Sept 2016. Also stated is that 500 deposits have been received.

No issue - you're entitled to howard, just as we're entitled to disagree with your pronouncements! The Lotus Evora is a 9-year old design and showing it's age, versus a brand new design with a Cosworth tweaked LS engine, Gordon Murray as part of the design process, etc, etc, versus another Lotus rehash with a more powerful Toyota engine and a new exhaust! The Lotus range is old and tired and even you have abandoned them howard......hopefully Geely will invest more money into them, but methinks we shouldn't hold our breath!
