Had a short trip in my 3.0l 2004 Roadster this afternoon with no problems at all.Just tried to start it this evening to put it away and it won't start,Turning over as normal(battery is new) but nothing happening.I disconnected the battery and reconnected to clear any ECU faults ,also pressed the inertia switch down. The MIL goes off as normal so I'm a bit stumped.Any ideas?

Silly suggestion, but is it worth trying your spare ignition key?

If it's not fuel then it might be the spark? Can you easily check if the spark plugs are sparking?

A few years ago I had a Volvo V70R, a bit of a tyre-shredder with 240 bhp going through the front wheels, but a lot of fun. However, after any relatively short journeys it was a bugger to start. A local specialist gave me this tip, which worked every time:
1. Push throttle pedal to the floor and hold it there.
2. Turn on ignition and spin starter motor for several seconds.
3. Engine will eventually cough and splutter.
4. When it's running on all cylinders, immediately lift off the throttle.
A completely different motor, I know, but possibly worth a try.

Used to use that exact method on a bmw 2002ti many years ago.

Have had this on my plus 4 and it was the fuel pump relay ! So must be fuel not getting to engine due to ...or spark eg coils ? Check spark ! Apologies if I'm wrong but I've been there !

Do you hear the fuel pump energise when you turn the ignition on? (I assume a 2004 Roadster produces similar clicking and whirring on turning on the ignition as a Plus 4)
