You may be right ! Ive got about 1k miles in 6 weeks. Starting to wander up into the tight twisty roads. I've driven many bikes / sports cars before on these roads. Just thought I would check the forum to see if anyone else has had a leaning curve.

There is always a learning curve with strange gizmos like a M3W:
Try to keep the revs above 3000rpm to relieve the compensator when driving.
Learn to use the clutch in a sensible way.
Find out that the fuel gauge does not show the actual fuel level.
Notice that earplugs are a useful tool to avoid damage of your sense of hearing.
Avoid permanent smiling while driving, otherwise you end up with lots of flies between your teeth
and so on...

As an afterthought, I do remember that it took me about 2,000 miles to get to "know" this car. The guesswork was gone and predictability went up!
I would also call the first set of the stock Avons' training wheels...
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

I always thought that the nearside wheel was the one closest to the kerb / pavement / sidewalk.
In the case of a left hand drive car, this would be the wheel on the right hand side of the car.
Unless I am mistaken

I always understood that it predates the car. The nearside is the name of the side of a horse from which you mount. So no, even on a LHD car, the nearside should remain the same as on a RHD.
It's also one of the reasons why it makes more sense to drive on the left - it means you can mount your horse from the side of the road instead of from the middle of the road. Napoleon only came up with the idea of driving on the right because it's the opposite of what we do.
I'm sure Richard Aus will be along soon to give us his considered opinion as a Naval Architect that it would be much easier if we called it port and starboard.

As a non native English speaker I find stuff like this quite interesting. You learn every day.
Near side as an expression does not exist in Swedish. I thought it just meant nearest to the curb/side walk.
Looking forward to clarification.
