This has been great reading, it just reinforces that car folks usually have the bug from that first car, even if that car was a bit suspect if you had to drive it more than a few blocks...
Some interesting info learned here such as Simon and I both have 72 yellow beetles in our past, and Ivo and myself have shared a Honda (Qualude) I mean Prelude experience, Ivo remember the tach speedometer setup..Watching the needles criss cross made you think you were on Qualudes...
The MG midgets,Toyota MR2's,Volvo's as well as various Fiat's,VW ghia's I could pretty much recall...Escort mk1's' and Morris Minor Woodies I think I recall how they looked...
Then there were the names that left me clueless, unique market specific vehicles, Hillman Avenger type vehicles...smaller niche vehicles like some of Ivo's pictures although you got to give Ivo his due, the two Caprices and the Caddy were larger than ten of the other vehicles pictured combined...you got love a guy who steps out of the box occasionally...
If you think about how a lot of our automotive lifes started, the differences in some of our markets..the fact many of us own this unique little british car, still hand made with some wood in 2010, and we talk about it online... I bet most of us never could have guessed this while we were behind the wheel of our first Hillman Avenger,VW beetle, Ford Escort/Cortina,Morris Minor,Fiat....I know I couldn't have guessed, I was really just interested in learning how to use the map light in my Capri...

Couldn't agree more, even before owning my first car I always wanted a +8 don't know why but did. Does and aero qualify in ticking the box

First car: 65 VW Beetle 1200. No, I would´t drive that one again. Second car: 1970 Renault 16, yes that one I would drive again. Third car: 1979 Renault 5 Alpine. I´d absolutely want one again, but they are all so shabby these days, no decent one around.
