Hello,
first of all, I am 6"4 (192cm) tall, and have long legs (inseam is 3"8, 94cm)

In the next two weeks I will get my new 4/4 (replacement for a 2013 Threewheeler).
On the Threewheeler I changed the original steering wheel to a 12" dished Moto Lita Mark 4. That fits perfect.

The 4/4 comes with the ugly standard 14" flat steering wheel. I like to change to a Mark 4 in 13", but now I am unsure if I take the flat or dished one. I talked to Moto Lita, the dish is 1,5" (3,8cm).

What do you think? What will be the better solution?

Any chance of your dealer having different ones in stock? That way you could sit in a car with the hub mounted and just rest different wheels in place to get an idea? I did that when I first bought a Morgan and it was a major help in deciding, its only a few moments to remove a steering wheel after all?

My dealer have only 14" on stock.
I just can order a flat and a dished and send one of them back...

Motalita also make an off centre wheel where the bottom spoke is shorter. That helps with leg clearance but leaves the leverage for steering.

Hello from Germany!

I am 186cm and for me each cm nearer to me is very unconfortable.
So the dished steering wheel would not fit.

So: Have some trips with the ugly original steering wheel and find out your best position in the seat.

In my opinion a 13" steering wheel means much more work at a car without power steering - like a Morgan.


Actually I have a 14" Motolita. I like the "skinny" look of this steering wheel but not the colour and the diameter, so I will change it next week with a Morganpark steering wheel. This gives about 1,5 cm more space for my knees.

I would definitely consider the 14" flat Offset steering wheel

The chap I bought my 4/4 from was very tall (not sure on exact height but certainly over 6') and this is the wheel he had on the car when I bought it

The 14" still allows good leverage on the steering and the offset allows more room under the wheel to manoeuvre

I have an offset wheel and find it extremely difficult to get in and out of the car unless the wheels are straight. I am (was?) 6ft 1 1/2"

If you have the standard tyres 165/80/15 a 13" steering wheel could work because you don't need the steering force you would when driving a roadster due to narrow tyres and lightweight engine. Nevertheless you should give it a try before buying it.

I have a Momo Prototipo fitted on my 4/4 which is about 13.78 inches and I'm quite happy with it. And yes, the steering wheel should on one hand allow to handle it having some distance to the dashboard and on the other side let it not come too close to you because the relation between pedal distance and steering wheel distance in a Morgan is on the edge where you need long legs and short arms.

Will the offset Mark 4 come closer to the dashboard than stock (because it is higher from the center)? Is there enough space for big hands (gloves with size 12)?
What happened when I shunted - is there less legroom (I hope you know what I mean)?
