My experience of Continental tyres are that they seem to go hard quicker than other makes and lose pattern early effecting grip.
Certainly would change after 5 years.

I had Contis on my 4/4 Sport and when it was just 3 years old the back end kicked out whilst turning right at traffic lights on a slightly greasy wet road and I wasn't going at any great speed either. It was a lesson learnt and had I kept the car much longer I would have changed them to Vredesteins as everybody who has used them on a 4/4 seems to rate them very highly.
