Thanks guys changed the plugs and went on a short ride. The backfiring and popping is a fair bit less and more normal to me and the engine seemed to fire up much better. Light is still on but let's give it some time. Now, this might be like a placebo but seems worth it to me.

Ken

I had some time to look at the plugs and the ones removed with 300 miles look like the Morgan is running quite rich. Any chance the ECU will lean the vehicle out over time?

That's surprising. With the O2 sensors and EFI, I'd think it should be running spot-on. What were you doing before you shut it down? Was it idling for a bit? If so, it may not be an accurate indication. To get an accurate reading of what the plugs look like, you should kill the engine "at speed", coast to a stop, then pull them to take a look.

Yeah I've got the MMC Stage 1 and that anti-social overrun popping. Don't you just love it? :-) No yellow light thought. 350 miles so far.

I love the Stage 1 sound, but unfortunately it's still not loud enough to drown-out the BB whine. It does seem to drown-out most other squeaks and rattles however :-)

Couldn't agree more on drowning out the BB whine. Love the sound though.

Took mine on a run Saturday. Ended up passing through Henley-On-Thames and it was packed with the annual rowing Regatta crowd. I might as well have been driving a Veyron, the amount of attention it got!

Go on admit it you went there just to show off. Great isn't it. You could only have got more attention if you had worn a gorilla suit. Now that's an idea to mull over.

Lol. It would have been warm in a gorilla suit. Total honesty, Henley has been part of my blatting route since 1979...! I did forget it was Regatta week, but then it was worth being stuck in traffic for a while.

With the gorilla suit would goggles alone be in order or would a helmet be required?
