Agree the car should be right, no excuses.
Trust MMC will replace the dash pads, can't believe that there is such a colour variation, presumably the pads are made in batches and not individual to each car (?). I'm assuming that any colour leather is available at extra cost, just black or tan as standard?
Ref the mats, when they fit they're useless, I just leave my footwell mat at home.
Velcro does work though. Nice car, hope you get it sorted.Enjoy!

The difference in leather colour should not be accepted. I would be miffed about that as I was when they put tan tabs and dash panels on my grey car. But it was sorted.

The mats are what everyone gets.

+1 for gripe #3

The mismatching leather dash panels were the first thing I noticed on my M3W and they still bug me now.

I've considered replacing them with black leather panels or some shiny turned aluminium ones but that just introduces more colours and materials which makes it somehow worse. Some body-coloured metal panels are probably the solution but for now I've just learnt to live with the fact that nothing quite matches.

You've noticed that the leather boot straps don't match the interior leather either? eek

Indeed I did, but as they are not as adjacent to each other, it's not that glaring...

All in all, I love it, but the minor irritations detract from what should/could be a stellar initial experience with it.

I intend to replace the dash pads, probably with walnut to match the walnut moto-lita wheel soon to arrive, have ordered Coca mats to replace the mats, and will probably get some touch-up paint to hide the rivets in the bonnet. It will be fine, and these nits bother me more than anyone else seeing the car I'm sure.

Which coco mats did you order?

Do you have rivets which are painted, or no holes to begin with (a better alternative)?

Mine is probably the second with vintage catches and those particular rivets on mine are unpainted. I have pics of my bodywork post paintshop and the holes are there only. Obviously those holes have been pre-drilled irrespective of the catch type to be fitted.

Hi trucking

Great looking car despite your niggles. Seems that on Kirk's car the two tone striped bodywork forced MMC to paint all the bonnet rivets. Worth having a touch up pen of correct colour for inevitable stone chips, so easy job to paint over yourself.

Regarding dash leather patches, be happy MMC didn't charge you for two tone leather innocent

Although I have same standard tan leather, I ordered car with black dash inserts and boot straps. Very pleased with that no cost decision.

The ones securing the body to the frame are painted when the body / frame combo is painted. The ones that are later used to secure the unit to the chassis, are not. Right? Seems the correct way to do things IMNSHO.

🤢 Glad they didn't use that method on mine.
