How is this for an idea guys: we club in together and create our own member's only photo gallery web space. There is plenty of gallery software out there that runs on the Joomla or WordPress platform and I am sure we could find something suitable.
It could be set up for automatically re-sizing images to suit posting in TM and reduce bandwidth requirements. It would require some volunteer administrators (moderators). The hosting options and annual costs would have to be looked at. I think it could be set up that you would have to have a log-in to view and post pictures on the gallery but that hosting for posting TM would work.
In a case like this the images of past members would still be kept and displayed for as long as sufficient TM members were prepared to anti up for the gallery hosting costs.
I would be prepared to help set it up but I think that there are some logical reasons why it should be set up with nominal UK resident administrators. Perhaps some sort of nominal association or club so that the hosting and domain name is not in a single individual's name.
Of course this could also be set up in TM's existing web space too but would no doubt require higher hosting charges. I have found what I think may be a suitable package deal which would allow suitable image hosting. It would cost about $USD 70.00 a year. I think it may be worth considering. I will put details in the "TM: Info, Ideas & Suggestions" Forum.

Peter. more power to your elbow, chum.
I've just deleted all my pics on Photobucket and closed my account. Well, it holds it open until the 5th so I'm expecting some emails.. But no. Stuff 'em.

Giles, well that was quick and painless. Very much faster upload than Photobucket! The only difference is that Tiny adds the [img] codes, duplicating the TM activity. I recognise that very nice picture!

John just click settings on the drop down (the same one you log off with) - next page click on account extreme RHD tab - near the bottom of the page is close account option.

The ransom demand has now reached the BBC News Web Site It seems that a lot of Amazon Market Place and eBay sellers were using Photobucket. For a business, the amount required will be less of an issue than "will they still be in business next week"

Agreed Stewart - they obviously did not have a plan.
Worked with a software business last year on the launch of a cloud based software solution. We devoted many hours to the planning of the transition from free to cheap to profitable model. And to planning the marketing communications around these stages. All this before the product was ready for launch.
