I had the petrol tank fall out of my 4/4 once. With the aid of couple of ratchet straps, I managed to drive it around until the tank was empty enough to remove safely.
Car taken off road for rebuild after that!

Well you arent alone in a Morgan. I had the complete carb vibrate off my old Harley once, left dangling on the end of the throttle cables. The bike stopped as you can guess.
