Hi to all of you.
Last weekend me and my wife went to Tuscany Chianti zone with our Mog. All was right: wonderful landscapes, lovely stone villages up the hills, 1.2 kgs bonestakes and not wine but nectar to drink with. Coming back in A1 between Bologna and Modena the sky was more and more dark. We closed the capote and in a few seconds it began TO HAIL!!All the traffic stopped and it was a 20 MINUTES OF HELL. My wife pushed up the capote with the hand to deaden the big noise, hail jumping everywhere, the road was white like snow, the windscreen tarnished, overall a sentiment of impotence and at this point I thought: I LOST MY MOG, THIS CAR MAST BE WRECKED. Than we restarted and when I was out from the motorway I stopped to verify the damages: UNBELIEVABLE, THE BODY SEEMED PERFECT!! But I wasn't convinct of this because it was submerged of water. At home I dried the car and PERFECT again. The day after I checked another time: in my mind it seemed impossible even if it was the reality.
I can conclude that the MOG is a VERY VERY STRONG CAR!!
Ciao a tutti

Fabrizio,

Must have been a similar feeling to the one I had being trapped behind a gritter truck, this winter, in my daily driver. I swore there would be no paint left on the front of my car and it would be pinged, dinged and dented all over the front.

Glad it worked out for you! They are strong little cars. wine

We´ve had some serious hail here, and my Land Rover Disco III was outside. Result: many serious dents in the roof, none in the bonnet. That was quite a surprise, because the roof is steel, the bonnet is aluminium!

109er,
so if I consider that the Mog's body is all aluminium, this could be the reason why my car was safe. Aluminium more elastic than the steel?
