Compare speedo speed to SatNav speed (pretty much accurate with open skies)

Make a mental note at 10 mph increments, or get you navigator to note them down.

See if is consistent across the range.

Obviously make sure your tyre pressures are correct.

Speedos can be set for a set Rolling circumference, if they changed wheels and tyres set up from when they specified the original scaling to the speedo scaling.

When you mess about changing tyre sizes this can have an impact as can simple tyre wear.

My Roadster is the most accurate setup I have ever had at 70 mph the Speedo is showing 70 mph whereas my supposedly modern Toyota over reads woefully (making the annual mileage clock up quicker!) almost sounds like a deliberate measure to give high mpg figures if you were cynical like me wink

Head Office and I drove from Bracknell to Storrington hood down in the sunshine yesterday. The satnav did a great job of finding country roads some of which I had not been on. Brilliant!

On the way back a BMW 335 pulled up beside us. Winding down the window the two occupants raved over the car. "Stunning" "Love it" and so forth. They pulled in front going past the meadows and floored their car. So dropped it into sport, down a few Gears and followed in pursuit. Next traffic lights they waited and said "what engine has that got in it as you stayed with us?"

We then got in front of them at the traffic lights and on leaving Camberley got to the two lane up hill road. Gave the Morgan the beans and left them for dead.

When we got home Head Office said it was a bit quick!

Got back home and saw the Ultima on the drive. Some days one just feels lucky LOL

I was near Storrington yesterday - but am sadly Morgan-less, so was in an unmemorable Range Rover.

Good plan: there is massive parallax error between the speedo needle, markings and the drivers eyes.

I know that what looks like 80 on the speedo is, from the GPS about 75, but above that speed I need a co-pilot to record both GPS and dial data!

Sounds like a great excuse for a run out!

Looks gorgeous Will, the colour certainly "pops!" love

Interesting how it appears to absorb the green of the vegetation in the second photo...

Thanks Brian laugh2

The courtyard pic was taken first thing in the morning - 8am or so, which I guess is why it looks cooler/bluer in that shot.
The head on pic was taken at midday - I'm sure there was some photoshoppery going on in that shot to max out the greens.

Friday: Newbury, to a pub for lunch with a couple of other Aero Plus 8 owners.
Parked next to a 1932 Lagonda, now that is a real classic!

Good meal, great banter.

Saturday: cleaned and repaired the passenger door where the screws holding the door check had sheared. See separate post.

Sunday: Classic car show at Sherborne Castle, photos will follow!!

Close to 32,000 miles and running better than ever!

Had a pleasant drive to Barsbüttel Germany today. Approx. 11 hours, got half way without roof and sidescreens then on/off drizzle so roof up. Then a brief downpour so sidescreens on. Roads dried out then what joy of a Plus 8 and an Autobahn woohoo

That's a fair old drive for a Sunday afternoon, I know Sunday's can be boring but I normally go out for a couple of hours to relieve the tedium.
