Does anyone know what the current Morgan metal gear knob was originally intended for? It is not the Mazda MX5 because the top of the Mazda lever is threaded to take a different knob whereas the Morgan knob, despite all sorts of threaded bits, has an inner section that slides on the gear lever and is held by a grub screw.

It's just an aftermarket gearknob Peter. Richbrook make them.

Holden's gear knob is different. Richbrook's Speed top is the correct one. Richbrook Speed Top

does anyone know the origin/source of the alloy gear knob as fitted to the 2014 Plus 8 and (possibly) the later Aero 8's?
It is slightly 'chunkier' than the Richbrook style and has a wide knurled band around the middle and a Morgan logo on the top.
Any info. gratefully received......

I've fitted a Richbrook Touring knob; £20 from Halfrauds. Very similar to the official Morgan one for a lot more

Holden's gear knob is different. Richbrook's Speed top is the correct one. Oh, that's interesting. My Holdens knob has 'Richbrook' etched into it.

hi ,I have a plus4 2009 with a richbrook speed top , simple question is how do you remove it . Is it unscrewed? I have tried and dont want to damage anything by trying. I have always had stiff gear change and want to lubricate the links?

thanks If that's on the Ford gearbox there is a threaded ring at the bottom of the knob, this unscrews to allow you to get at the three grub screws that hold the knob on. Cheers John
