Welcome to TM.

In the absence of a Morgan agent, you will often find small local firms that have the experience required rather than the shiny showrooms.

Welcome from a cross the pond. The V6 motor really performs well but I'm not a fan of the exhaust tone. I drove two of them before buying my +8. To me the sound of the motor makes is 40% of the sports car experience. Odd I like the sound of a strate 4, V8, and a V12. A strate 6 is not to bad. Sorry just my $.02 cents.

Thank you to all for your kind welcome, and to Sarnia too!

I went and drove a +4, a slightly older and a brand spankers Roadster at Richard Thorne's earlier this week.
All very nice cars, but for me, I want slightly more in the tank than the 4-pot brings. I guess I've been spoilt with powerful sports cars over the years! The 6-speed box in the new cars is very tempting, but I guess I need to drive a few to get a decent feel for the car and the spec. I also need to be aware of the false economies - I could readily buy a slightly older car and tweak it to my tastes and desires. That's the nice thing about Morgans - they are infinitely 'tinkerable'!
Timothy: Concur that the noise is important, but I rather like the V6. It's difficult to put my finger on, but a V8 as part of the whole package just doesn't feel quite right to me; nothing wrong with them, I think I've had 6 in various guises in my time! (Watch me buy a +8 now...)

If everyone thought the same, the world would be boring..! Go and try as many as you wish and be happy.

Why not come over to Malvern for the August BH..? Zillions of Morgans are pitching up for the RFTH & you can go around the factory for free on the Friday.

Just keep us updated with your thoughts and some pics..!

Welcome to you both.

Regarding choosing your first Morgan; just try as many as you can and you will find that one will choose you!

For servicing and support for the Channel Islands. There are some cracking Morgan dealers and specialists near the south coast of England; from Berrybrook near Exeter in the west, to Brands Hatch, Kent in the east.
I am sure they will help, should you require.

cheers

Wakkadriver, Welcome. The folks here on TM will certainly offer opinions on what Morgan is best. Take all of this in. However, I would suggest you should just drive all that you can (they all have advantages and disadvantages) and the one that is best for you will soon be obvious. We all look forward to your decisions.

Cheers,

Sarnia, Welcome and don't worry about not having a Morgan Agent nearby. Maintenance on your Zetec 4/4 should not be a problem and those on this forum will certainly help. Just let us know what problems you might have and we will offer advice and assistance best we can over TM.

Again, welcome and enjoy the 4/4.
