As some know, I returned to biking with a nice retro Cafe Racer, the new Triumh Thruxton R.

Back in 2002 I bought a 2 piece set of leathers, in black, from Dianese.
Hadn't worn them for about 8 years.
"Management" said that I should see if they still fit, and assuming they don't, sell them.

To my (and her) surprise, they fit as snugly as they did in 2002! cloud9

Looking at prices of bike gear they would cost about £750 to replace... so well chuffed.

Now I have to clean them.. the jacket is still splattered with the remains of dead insects!

I am the same weight now as when playing rugby 30 years ago.
The distribution of weight is, however, different.

Well done Peter no wonder you are pleased with yourself!

I lost over 6kg this year - and joy - have kept it off!!

Am 75kg dripping wet!

My son had challenged me to 70kg - the answer was...NO!!

Quite!
In 1973 I weighed 70kg.
I now weigh 80kg.
But there are clear distribution differences which serve to prove gravity exists!

Or perhaps I've lost some muscle tone... surrender

In 1986 I bought a grey pinstripe wool suit from M&S for an interview.
I still have it and it still fits and looks great.
So my shape is pretty much unchanged in 31 years..........

I broke down on the way to that interview. Not mentally, obviously, but I lost a cylinder on the long drag uphill to Woolley Edge services - M1 North towards Leeds.

So having had all the plugs out (A Series Metro), and trying to keep clean, I pressed on into Leeds on three.

After the interview, being an A series it started easily from cold on three, and got me home. Although it was sluggish uphill, it would touch 70 downhill........................

It turned out that a chunk of metal had come away from the exhaust valve.................................

I got the job. grin2

31 years - barely broken in. Hang on to it and you could go to your interview with St Peter in it. Only problem these days is that the material has to be acceptable to be cremated in. They wont do it in synthetic fabrics believe it or not. s Not sure the devil is that fussy.

My own 30 year old suits are a bit baggy now but my 20 year leather trousers have shrunk. Its weird that synthetics stretch and leather shrinks but clearly that is what has happened.
