Interesting to hear your thoughts Tim , I too had seriously considered a four seater but for various reasons wasn't able to get one . As NeilL says do keep us posted It would be great if Thumper ( which I still think of as my car!) ended up with your friend .

I think all owners impart some of their character on to a Morgan of which they have custody.

Hi Pete,
I was captivated by the 3 wheeler, got the funds together after a while and became another one of the band of younger, new to Morgan owners. I loved it and enjoyed it very much but found within 8 months it didn't live up to the dream.
In those 8 months i'd been to the factory and saw a 4/4 speedster ( a stripped out, now discontinued, basic 4/4). It planted a seed.
I didn't get a speedster but swapped my M3W for a 4/4 Bespoke and have not regretted it at all, never even for a second. I saw my old M3W at thrill on the hill last year - parked my 4/4 next to it for a photo. side by side i asked myself the question " which one do you really want to take home?" no contest at all - the 4/4.
I miss the thump/thump of the engine a tiny bit but the 4/4 Sigma is more fun in reality as it revs and revs with the power building as it does right up-to 6000rpm ( and behond I'm told)
If you were to go from the 3W to an 4/4 80th i think you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.
The 4/4 is light, nippy, handles well, looks fantastic, has a hood and a heater, is better on fuel, more reliable i reckon and yet still has the wonderful Mazda gearbox!

How much improvement can be made to an 1800 Zetec? Approx 180/200 bhp with throttle bodies , slightly wider cams and an Omex ECU , that should do nicely sir. You might need to upgrade some other parts to cope.

You might need to upgrade some other parts to cope. That's the great thing about Zetecs, there's loads of stuff out there and specialists who are well-versed in getting the best out of the engine. You can get them up to 130-140bhp with very little effort, which is more than it sounds when you remember it's in a car that weighs little more than 850kg or so.

Thanks for all the replies. I visited the factory today as I am relatively local. They had two gorgeous +4's, one in bugatti blue and one in what looked like dove grey with black pack. Both quite sporty looking rather than what I would consider traditional. Both felt they would be very special cars to own and make up for positives of the 3W (engine sound and novelty)
I think I may wait until run for the hills to make my mind up and try a few.

Hello Pete, I changed my Threewheeler to a 4/4 because I wanted a car with a higher usability for longer trips. I am still missing the 3W, but the 4/4 is a great improvement! It also sounds good, but different. If I had the possibility, I like to have both of them in my garage...

I have both a 1998 +8 & a 2013 M3W. The M3W is much more fun to drive. It also gets ten times the attention the +8 gets.
