Looking for anyone who has had an ECU remap on a Roadster II, with Ford Escape engine, for honest opinions on whether worthwhile or not
AND I dont suppose anyone has a modified, for height, sump pan that they are not using for the same engine, kicking around ?

Alan. I have a 2010 Roadster Sport.which I bought last November from BHM. Apparently if you move the air intake from behind the rad and extend it over the rad ( look for a plastic upright lip and remove it ) you will gain 12bhp. I have this on good authority from one of our own and confirmed by BHM. My Sport is just beginning to free up now at approaching 10000 miles.

This sounds like an interesting improvement which can be done with not too much effort. Do you have picture of the modified air intake above the rad which you can post?

Meabh I have been looking at trying to relocate the air intake pipe for some time. Not easy with the Roadster especially as I have larger radiator fitted. I have fitted a KN air filter already with no noticeable difference

Check this discussion: http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/205097/Re:_ECU_remap_-_Quantum#Post205097 The remap I had done on my 2009 Roadster by Williams transformed the car, in addition an ITG airfilter was mounted. My mog allready had an stainless steal sport exhaust, which gives a nice rumble. Not sure it adds much in real performace. Jays did same remap and did a performace test, see post mentioned. Cheers, Bert

Williams borrowed my 2009 Roadster to develop a remap three years ago by Monster I believe. It was dyno'd at 222 bhp......up from 204. That's with a pair of Melvyn Rutters sports silencers. It had only done 1500 miles so with it now loosened up I suspect that it is giving out a tad more.

Need I say more.. 3.7 engine , yes more power indeed , BUT now you step right into another problem, the dreaded rev hanging. To the best of my knowledge there is no solution in sight at present. I understand that an "interface" needs to be produced and there is a minimum order of X (I heard 200) . (although I am sure this is possible given the number of cars that are suffering) MMC are not covering themselves in glory on this issue.

If you get close to the S1 230bhp I would go for it. Frankly it has more than enough umph & no rev hang
