This years 'Distinguished Gentleman's Ride' once again is a worldwide event taking place on the 24th September. Although down as a motorcycle event M3Ws have been entering pretty much since the start. We had something like 120 bikes and scooters here (and my M3W)on last years ride,and it was great fun. I don't know how the organizers managed it but we exceeded the speed limit on all the parkways, did not stop for a single stop sign or semaphore, and no one got hurt or stopped. They did have "unofficial" road captains at most of the intersections. I am wondering, that as word of this gets around, if the number of participants will grow to an unmanageable size. It would be unfortunate as this is a very worthy cause. Any other thoughts on this?

I've registered for a ride in NJ, but have a question... is it considered "improper" to have the wife accompany me? I have enough trouble considering myself as "distinguished", so don't want to compound the challenge by adding a female component to the vehicle :-)
