Alan. I have a 2010 Roadster Sport.which I bought last November from BHM. Apparently if you move the air intake from behind the rad and extend it over the rad ( look for a plastic upright lip and remove it ) you will gain 12bhp. I have this on good authority from one of our own and confirmed by BHM. My Sport is just beginning to free up now at approaching 10000 miles. Have a look at the end of this post: https://sites.google.com/site/morganatica/bodywork-and-chassis/aerodynamicsIt seems that the air stream bypasses the grille in its upper area. that may be all true but it made a significant change for the better to remove this flexible plastic barrier located above the radiator. Perhaps it is enough done in this way to open the window to cooler air and the NA engine has enough power to suck it in.

It probably works to a similar fashion to ground effect with the internal top barrier in place, causing a cushion of air to form in the top of the cowl.

A Google on the ford forums for the st220 tuning options as same engine shows what's available. Evidently bluefin and K&N don't make much of a difference more can be had from exhaust and de cat or engine work..
Does a K&N help on the noise front?

I have a K&N filter in the standard airbox. No difference on the noise but as Mr Morgan hadn't fitted an air filter I think it helps stopping crap reaching the engine.
I knew they hadn't fitted one as the car was under the 10k for the first replacement & the fiberglass box was full of flash from the moulding so a filter wouldn't fit.

Steve, all I can say is that in the body of the air filter housing were dead flies and small stones.
15k m further on she runs well & no significant oil usage. John

Thanks for the replies chaps. Mine had an air filter fitted when I changed it. In addition to fitting the KN I rubbed the inside of the air box as smooth as I could as it was a very rough finish I can't say I noticed any difference and certainly no louder. It was suggested to me that a remap and sport silencers should achieve 20 to 30 bhp.
