Pauls view was based on information the factory gave him (Factory view in your parlance). He stated that in his first post.
They shouldn't have disclosed that information to him. He shouldn't have repeated it on a forum, particularly to criticise the OP and support the factory. That's my issue.
For him to then claim that he was able to assess the validity of the work by merely seeing a car at the factory is frankly ridiculous.
As we're obviously going nowhere with this I suggest we agree to disagree.
When expressing an interest in buying a M3W I asked if this work was normal? Clearly the car was in bits. The factory told me no it was not and that the customer had asked to have the work done! I do not see an issue with this! It would have finished at that if this thread did not disclose more information and, I being a normal, connected the thread and what I saw.
Get a grip mph as clearly Q8 has shown he wanted to make a cost benefit decision, which was completed quickly and still in the bounds of sensible pricing for the U.K.
In fact my car is going to Morgan on Monday so clearly I have no issue with their advise and charging for good work!
Maybe others do. That is their perogative; but I can have a view and when I see injustice from my point of view I will point it out. That includes if the factory are wrong. Cost benefit decisions are personal and OK with me but most would not have this work done as therefore it would be seen as abnormal. I understand it may work if you do not have access to other alternatives but please; it is exception and not normal.
As far as the factory giving me personal information, you have made the same assumptions I made in connecting the information you saw. Mine clearly worked but yours did not. If I had made a mistakeI would have apologized but I have not made a mistake as Q8 has made clear.
