Welcome Jeremy.
1) have a look at Toyo Proxys on Demon Tweeks website, great tyre and excellent value.
2) yes Librands and Harpers, also Heart of England or have one custom made locally (usually cheaper too !!!). Also have a look at this months Miscellany, there's a second hand stainless system for sale at £200, big bore and including manifolds, may be suitable.
3) a few companies do sleeving, a couple advertise in the classic car mags. Trip to W.H.Smith library on Saturday maybe?
Good luck with the recommissioning and keep us all informed!

Jeremy, welcome and good luck with your re-commissioning project.

How long as the car sat?
If more than 5 years as well as flushing out the brake fluid and coolant, flushing and changing the oil and filter, I'd replace all the rubber hoses, coolant and brake, plus rear drum cylinder seals and possibly the front piston seals.

If the discs are rusty you may have to replace them as well.

You might want to consider flushing out the fuel tank, pump and assuming it is twin SUs, the carb float chambers. Old Fuel gunge can cause all sorts of misfire problems and old fuel will have lost some of the more volatile components making starting difficult.

Replacement parts for SUs (and all new SUs made from modern alloys) are produced by Burlen Fuel Systems in Salisbury,

That is all I can think of for now!

A 1990 +8 will be fuel injected. I am guessing it will be Lucas 14CUX (better known as "Hotwire") but there is just a possibility it was the previous "Flapper" system. So no carb to clean , but lots of fuel lines to flush through to prevent any crud from the tank getting anywhere the injectors.

Sadly only available in 205/55 x15 so there will be a loss of ground clearance and the speedo will read marginally fast. I would personally recommend the Avon ZV5 (now superseded by the ZV7?) in the 205/60 x 15 size. Good value and reasonable grip , admittedly not quite as good as the Toyo Proxes T1 R

On the exhaust system question it depends what how much you want to spend and if you want a single solution that will last for decades. The latter is the Librands/Harpers/HoE system which all release more power from the engine, as the standard cast iron manifolds and the 90 deg bend that ~MMC use , are notoriously restrictive. Personally I would go with the Librands system as that has excellent credentials , many happy +8 owners , and good results (but do get it fitted professionally , even a good DIY mechanic with facilities will struggle to fit it inside 4 days, although perhaps the newer non-crossover system is easier)

Thanks all, really appreciate the advice and guidance. Got the engine running (fresh oil).and freed up the seized rear brakes. Going for an MOT tomorrow to see what other items need doing, suspect front suspension may need some work? Keep you posted and send some pics when the rain stops!! Thanks again, Jeremy
