Wikipedia: "According to secret documents issued to interrogators at Guantanamo Bay, obtained and released by The Guardian, "the Casio F-91W digital watch was declared to be 'the sign of al-Qaeda' and a contributing factor to continued detention of prisoners by the analysts stationed at Guantanamo Bay. Briefing documents used to train staff in assessing the threat level of new detainees advise that possession of the F-91W – available online for as little as £4 – suggests the wearer has been trained in bomb making by al-Qaeda in Afghanistan."United States Military intelligence officials have identified the F-91W as a watch that terrorists use when constructing time bombs.

Obviously, any other watch or device including a precise alarm can be easily modified for the same purpose by anyone with a basic knowledge of electronics. The F-91W simply happens to be a very popular, reliable, ubiquitous and inexpensive watch which is readily available almost everywhere in the world."

That is priceless laugh2.. What would we do without Wikinonsense..

Have IWC brought out a watch with Michael Vogt's patented World Timer complication?

My library isn't that up to date so don't know

The only IWC world timer I've got mentioned in the Watch Year Book from 2012 shows a pilots world timer with an ETA movement with an in House World timer complication added

If I had need of a watch it would be this one as a constant reminder of my late fathers wartime career in Spitfires. It's limited to 100 issues.

I have bought a couple of watches from Marcus and still have my Hublot Big Bang AeroMax version which came from them, though I rarely wear it...

I've seen the IWC World Timer and it could well be the same complication, but I await Stuart's input from his library of watch info! Even if it is the same complication, I do prefer the Vogard...

Brian,
If you remind me on Saturday, I have the original launch CD from Morgan when the Big Bang Morgan watch was launched.

Here for a good time not a long time!!

I decided to buy myself a 'nice' watch thanks to a small bequest at a time when I was working and had a good income so cost wasn't much of an issue. I looked any many and had pretty much decided on a Breitling Navitimer (which I still like and covet) until I tried to read it. In common with many high-end watches, I felt that they failed the test of serving their function of readability and ended up buying an IWC pilots watch. This has fantastic readability and served me well when speaking or chairing at conferences when I needed to keep an eye on the time out of the corner of my eye.

When folks ask me what it is, what I mostly get in response is uugh?

Of course, being automatic and despite being more curate that the chronometer standard it doesn't keep as good time as a Seiko. Never mind, you get what you pay for or perhaps, in this case, maybe you don't doh
