For more than 2 decades I use a Porsche Design Sportivo by IWC as preferred daily watch.
Excellent readability, date and stopwatch function. Small, light and perfect design.
(but it is quarz driven ..)
Besides enjoying different mechanical Suisse watches I always get back to the the little Sportivo.

I decided to buy myself a 'nice' watch thanks to a small bequest at a time when I was working and had a good income so cost wasn't much of an issue. I looked any many and had pretty much decided on a Breitling Navitimer (which I still like and covet) until I tried to read it. In common with many high-end watches, I felt that they failed the test of serving their function of readability and ended up buying an IWC pilots watch. This has fantastic readability and served me well when speaking or chairing at conferences when I needed to keep an eye on the time out of the corner of my eye. When folks ask me what it is, what I mostly get in response is uugh? Of course, being automatic and despite being more curate that the chronometer standard it doesn't keep as good time as a Seiko. Never mind, you get what you pay for or perhaps, in this case, maybe you don't  Have you ever noticed how, when you want to know the date, one of the hands is always at 3 o'clock and obscuring the little window. Happens far too often to just be chance.

If you remind me on Saturday, I have the original launch CD from Morgan when the Big Bang Morgan watch was launched.
