Any advice on dampers for a 2000reg 4/4? I've been using Koni Classics, but find the adjustment awkward and not very precise, on the rare occasions I've tried it. Thinking of changing to SPAX.

Another vote for AVOs from me. I used to have Spax fitted, they were ok but suffered from a pretty crappy adjustment mechanism that served up very easily.

The AVOs are much better, and are available in different lengths and ranges of movement. It's important to check your car, as they are all a bit different and you need to ensure the damper doesn't run out of movement both under compression and extension.

Tim Ayers was able to sort out a custom set for me as my car needed a slightly different range from standard. Very helpful an a quick service too.

On our plus 4 we are getting some vibration at around 70mph ..possibly some malvern dance, Im thinking we need to investigate the kingpins damper blades do some regreasing etc

appeared to happen after we had the old avons removed and new yokohoma blue earth fitted. wondering if wheel weights are right?

May happen if wheel balance garage didn't have the proper 'cones' or balance equipment for spoke wheels?

any ideas fellow TM's

From my recent experience, check the balance of the rear wheels (fronts if it were 30-50mph)....

I have AVOs at the rear of my Roadster and it works fine.
New Elms acquired the rights from Rutherford, who did considerable work on Morgan suspensions. Check:

I have AVOS (I think, not sure modified by Rutherford) and the shock hoop as well as well greased 5 leaf springs in the rear. I have tried the Suplex Kit (Too Soft IMO) and MULFAB Kit w 140 inlb springs (too stiff IMO). Now recently changed to the blue +8 springs at I think 120 inlbs. Koni shocks but have used NO shocks with success in the past with the blue springs. Not very happy with any of this. Every time I drive my '63 +4, Original front springs, Koni's on 4 corners and Rutherford modified rear springs I marvel at the ride and handling of this old +4. Why can't I get My +8 even close to the the ride/handling of the +4?
