I'm thinking that a cooler is a fabulous idea and it's going to definitely help null the screaming, but like Tim, worry that some of the pipe work fillings are simply too low given a low engine oil cooler grounded last year at Grindlewald rendering the car U/S.

Have a look at the video. The NVH kit appears to have been fitted. One of the oil cooler pipes can be seen attached to the forward part of this kit.

Im anxious to see and hear the testing. I dont like looking at that big cooler, but if it fixes the issue, im for it. The valve train noise when the oil.is hot is disturbing.Bevel box noise really distracts from the fun.

Graeme is (an Australian by birth) an exceptional engineer, highly regarded with numerous patents, etc. Many of his solutions have been picked up by others, to include the factory. His specialty is pumps so he certainly knows gears, wear and lubrication. Agreed his solutions are not simple or easily repeatable, but they are exceptionally effective.

A consummate Morgan man. His stable includes two 1947 Series 1 4/4s, one with a super charger of his own design and construction, a 1935 F4 and a 2012 M3W. He is a good friend of George Proudfoot.

Cheers,

Mark

Mark, are Graeme and Emil one and the same?

I can't help wondering if another BB could work, don't Honda make one for the Gold Wing for instance? It would then eliminate all this trouble and expense. (Although getting it to fit would also cause some trouble and expense admittedly).

Nope, two distinctly different sorts. I met Emil for the first time at the recent North American Three Wheeler Convention. He has a new business catering to the M3W crowd. He seems to be a good guy, but I have no direct knowledge of his products.

Graeme is a an engineering god. I have known him for some 20 years. I have a B.S. and an M.S. in Engineering from noted engineering schools but every time I spend time with him I am just amazed. That, and he is no old stick in the mud. He is always good fun to be around.

Cheers,

Mark

Thanks for clearing that up Mark, I hadn't seen any reference to Graeme previously and wondered if I'd missed something.

I hope Emils work yields results and if in practice it keeps the box quiet, it'll be interesting to see what happens on a long run.

No doubt it worked a treat but it wasn't simple or compact. Hopefully this system will improve on that...

How has Graeme got on with his mod I wonder?

PS: his earlier Bevel Box issues described on pp20 at http://www.mogsouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/MOGSouth-Newsletter-1_14r6.pdf
