Things continue apace in Caramulo;
Peter has discovered that the lining of his crash helmet is past its best and that he should never make bets about cleaning other people's cars.
Mario has had deep discussions over the paperwork with the organisers.
Scottish ladies have posed on the skyline behind their Jag.
Another organiser has tried to get Mario to stand in the right place, eventually having some success.
The organiser finds he has a new app for Alfas on his smart phone.
Mario and his daughter's boyfriend Diego, though I have probably misheard, mis-spelled mis-understood the relationship and mis-remembered his name, prepare for the competition.
Mario and Peter compare smartphone apps at the top of the hill.
Brolly dollys have been hard at work.

Calum, Peter,

great set of photos... I envy your adventure. notworthy

I had a different week....whilst you enjoyed Europe I experienced the UK Motorway network at its best, spending much time not going anywhere and admiring the view of the vehicles around me. Most frustratingly my car doesn't have DAB Radio (the Morgan does) so I couldn't listen to the Cricket!

The run back from York to Salisbury on Friday was made particularly special by the closure of the M6 and the southbound M1 and A1M. The M6 closure was unusual as 18,000 litres of chemical processing waste, mostly dilute sulphuric acid, spilled out from a damaged tanker, closing both lanes near Knutsford for 8 hours. So all the usual traffic found alternative routes, or at least tried to do so.

Then, just when I thought it was safe the Northbound A34 south of Oxford was closed whilst the emergency services cleared up the remains of what I think was a caravan. The Southbound side was also closed for a short while because the Emergency Helicopter had to find somewhere to land.

I left York at 13:00 and thanks to a lot of "A Road Discovery" got home at 19:30, just 2.5 hours longer than it should have been...

It's all over, Peter and Alis have left to meander their way home to Mandello del Lario, I have a new bonnet ornament, the sat-nav did not mess about when I set it to curvy roads this morning, I hit the rush hour again, this time near Felguerias and I am now in a hotel in a medieval fortress in Chaves which is not pronounced the way it looks, unless you actually are Portuguese like Mario.

Wow..! Fantastic, Calum..!

So pleased you all had a great adventure, and thanks for the photo's.

I can't speak for the others but last years trip down there was one of the best road trip adventures I've done.

Mario, you're a star..

Safe driving on the way home to both of you.

Steve....yes, last years trip is something that will always stick in my mind. Great journey, huge enjoyment at the event with Mario and family but more than anything else.....huge laughs with three great mates on the trip there and back.

Calum.....some great photos....keep them coming and have a great trip back home. You might need a brolly eventually....and something to bail the car out with 😉

Indeed, great memories I'll always treasure. I've done a few trips in the past but last years with the guys to caramulo I'd rank as the best.

Can't wait for the next one!!

I have the brolly, and having unbolted the fire extinguisher I have an extra two drainage holes in the floor. Should be fine.
