It gets worse. The very helpful Stéphanie Marcassus who runs the Morgan side of the main dealership, for whom RD Racing are the service agent for south eastern France, asked Morgan when she ordered the chassis: "Were any additional parts required?" and was told no. This is a level of incompetence above and beyond Morgan's usual level. It would be fair to say I am disgusted with Morgan over their performance on this and the M3W will definitely be the last Morgan I ever get. I initially expressed fears to Morgan that my chassis was broken in August 2015 and two and a bit years later, still going round in circles.

This would involve the parts department asking the guys who have done many chassis changes at the factory what bits they need when doing a chassis change. Obviously they like to amuse themselves by seeing what the customer thinks is required, rather than telling them what parts are really needed. It's not as if it is an unusual job. It all helps to make customer relations an uphill job I suppose.

There is no real excuse! Morgan should know the vin of the very last car manufactured without the bevel box ISO kit. Any car requiring a frame replacement prior to that vin number would automatically "need" the parts to remount the bevel box in the new frame. This happened to me 2 years ago and seems to still be the norm.
A car can be hand built but there should be endless data feedback available to everyone in the factory enabling them to continually improve their job😡

Actually we told the dealer they would require latest bevel box mountings as per the NVH kit for the new chassis.
Sadly they were never ordered.

After talking with Wilson yesterday we have arranged to ship the necessary parts directly to RD Racing to avoid further delays.

It's not always our fault!

Just create a high level BOM for a replacement chassis which includes all parts required to complete the repair.
Simple to do, no communication cock ups and MMC doesnt get slagged off.

Morning Deano

Unfortunately your recommendation is impractical for this, because the part number is a current spec chassis, if someone had an accident (god forbid) and required a replacement chassis they would automatically recieve parts to convert from pre 2014 to current spec, obviuosly some of the items would not be needed.
I'm working with our team to update the parts book to make it easier for everyone (& clearer)
I'll post a link for you guys to download the new version once completed if you'd like?

My chassis cracked in four places up front on August 1st. I trailered it to the dealer on the second of August and by the end of day I was informed that a new chassis was already on order. Yesterday on Sept. 11, I found out that the chassis hadn't left England. It may have not even been built by now as summer holidays and vacation time...

One of my friends piped up that I should be grateful I wasn't dealing with an Italian company due to the regular strikes and Saint days eating up time!

Hi Micheal H

Just waiting for the chassis to arrive with us from the the supplier (were due to arrive last week) Our production team are chasing, obviously it's holding up the line!
All of the other required parts are sat with us ready to pack into the crate and shipped directly to Morgan Motors of New England.
