Indeed! You were missed. But I suspect your plan for 2017 was for you to come as a competitor yourself, with your own (lovely) co-driver. But I have a plan for 2018. The Wild Mogs return to give a hand (and much needed guidance ) to their "Racing Team". And then we could race four teams: 1 - Jays and the lovely lady Jays 2 - Gambalunga and SteveT (both calm and steady, they could easily win it) 3 - Calum and Wirewheel (the babe magnet overkill team) 4 - Myself with Stringer's Best Mate - So he can write a fantastic piece about actually taking part in the event. There are interesting pictures to be taken up hill, as the JAG picture Calum took clearly demonstrates. Is this a good plan or what?

Any room for a Plus 8 and a couple of idiots?
(Self and another manic driver, sadly not Mrs J's idea of fun driving across Spain and Portugal)

Mario, when we visited Caramulo I didn't notice an alternative route from the top of the hill back to the museum. I don't recall there being that much space at the top. Are the cars held up there and return to the museum in a convoy? As it was raining hard we didn't linger there.
I also don't recall there being any space near the roadside for spectator viewing. Is most of the action around the start line and the museum?

Peter Of course! The growl of a Plus8 would be a treat to spectators. And a thrill for you I hope!

However, there is an alternative route, indeed one of the places with a great number of spectators is precisely near the end of the track (last hairpin). Must be said that I do not know how to get there (never asked) but I think it is a long-ish way around in back roads. This year I went with Calum and Peter (taking advantage of some 3 hours between climbs, on Sunday) to a viewing area about 1/4 into the length of the track. You must do some, but not much, mountain walking. All that said, still most people stay and watch the event around the start line and the museums
