Ours usually fully latch with a gentle tug followed by allowing gravity to finish the job. Mine too, in fact gravity will do the job on its own. If you need to slam them I reckon they need adjusting.

Gravity closes them on my legs if i'm not out like a ferret.

A Land Rover owning friend of mine pointed out that the door lock will not work unless the door is fully closed. A useful easy check.

Gravity has no affect on my doors, they stay wherever they are put. I will admit I have had the passenger door fly open on a corner though.
The door lock trick is a good one, I shall make sure my passengers always lock once in. I always wondered why my 4/4 had locks on the inside when it doesn't even have handles outside.

And you have to cover the effect that wearing a Biggles jacket has on the ability to close the door. And dont forget the after market wooden hinges!
