Why is it that they like to upset their passengers by cancelling at very short notice , 9000 passengers a day ! No one else but them .

Cheaper than running the plane at a guess.
Mind you that would leave staff and planes in the wrong place so it would seem a little odd.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Its lack of crews I believe. Lots of pilots leaving for other airlines.

It's to improve their overall performance.... ...bu 80 to 90 flights a day cancellation is an improvement

80-90 flights a day from 86 airports is only a single flight a day on the whole from each airport.
Hardly in need of the drama capturing news figures is it?
Surely if that improves flight delays then I don't see the fuss.
I think you all expect to much for a £30 flight.

Official line is that they screwed up the pilots leave.
The point is for some people & airports that one cancelled flight is the only Ryanair one leaving people stranded.

here in Belgium we lack a lot of workforce
jobs that have week-end-work or nightjobs
or technicians on 'watch'
=> we just can't find people to do those jobs
so what's happening at Ryanair or in restaurants&bars in Paris (having to make unqualified people (legal refugees) serve your clients) is no surprise to me
future looks awkward: a lot of work without people to do the job

If you can get one for the headline £30. I never have. Fair enough it is cheaper and so you might think they are more likely to drop the ball yet they are actually the largest and so have more chance of spare capacity. Its not the price but the alignment - it may only be £30 but you probably have a lot of other things aligned around it and if it gets cancelled they all go to pot as well. People waiting, transport, work the next day. I guess some of it is the old match-the-metrics challenge as well. As mentioned above delay is a big metric they look at. That's what I've heard through a pilot friend who works for Easy Jet The cocking up the leave is partially correct but a bit of a smoke screen for pilots and senior airline staff jumping ship (plane) for better pay and conditions They have been cancelling flights on the quiet for a few months now because of staff shortages apparently
