Well, what can I say. I'm tired of being a sucker for MMC. My car has been terribly unreliable and Morgan's customers service has been evasive and unresponsive. I'm a driver. I like to drive. This car doesn't get it done. I can't count on it to get me there and back. I've paid a premium price but Morgan's customer service is definitely in the discount category.
I could deal with bad quality OR bad customer service but both together is deal killer for me.
I'll never buy another Morgan in my life.
Here's a short history of my car and all the repairs. Much paid from my own pocket. Who knew so much could go wrong in just 16000km?!
Engine failed at 2300 km (7 weeks repair time) Throttle cable broke at 8400km (1 week repair time) Rear wiring harness failed at 11000km Rear sprocket needed replaced at 13000km Rectifier failed at 13200km Exhaust falls off 14800km (1 week repair time) Cam belt tensioners/rollers/belt fail 15200km (6 weeks repair time) Belt drive needs replaced at 16000km Compensator failure at 16000km
There's so many other cars out there that are a blast to drive but not such a nightmare to own.

Sorry to hear of all your problems MrPB. I assume you have an early car?
Just to reassure anyone reading the post who may be put off from buying a new M3W or any other Morgan.
My 2015 M3W has now done 10500 miles without any serious problems. Always starts ok and gets me to where I want to get to. Has driven through torrential rain several times without a splutter.
Only 2 warranty claims. A new oil cap and cooling fan that had got a bit of an annoying rattle.
That's probably better than your average 'normal' family saloon?
I carry a shed load of spares and tools in case I get stranded but have never had to use them.
Don't blame you for giving up but just wanted to add my story for balance.
It is disappointing that Morgan didn't support early adopters more.
Ours, a 2015 was inflicted by a couple of the common trending defects (details and even a video in the link below). BUT even with these howlers taken into account, mile for mile, it has been more reliable than our daily driver. ( What Car? Magazines 'Car of the Year' Nissan SUV. ) The Nissan was purchased at the same time as the Morgan and the plan was to keep it until it fell to bits. We didn't expect it to happen quite so soon! It was traded last week.
Interestingly, had I bought this Morgan a few months later (like Mapman) it would have been even more reliable.
I can't even complain about the bevel box although this is down to luck rather than production date. I've had no trouble dealing with Morgan and would recommend Berrybrook without hesitation. However, Nissan Bodmin, Nissan Barnstaple, and Nissan EU are dreadful. I will never buy another Nissan.

I've just read about family cars here and in other previous posts.
All I can say is that the past 5 new vehicles since '04 have been all stellar cars/SUV's/pickup trucks.
I'm currently driving an '04 Nissan Murano AWD V-6 we bought new in '04 for the wife. I only started to drive it at 103k miles back in May as the new '16 GMC Terrain I bought to drive for a few years and turn over to the wife with around 30k on it, was getting way too many miles too quickly, 20k in the first year. So I switched and now I've put 10k on the Murano since May. I will say that I've had to do front axle outer bearing assemblies on both front wheels at 85k to 95k miles. Other than that, no issues. The other vehicles, an '04 Nissan Titan, '13 Buick Verano, '06 Chevy Impala and '16 GMC Terrain have only had normal services and that's it.
If the M3W was anywhere that dependable, this forum would be nothing but praise for the little trikes. But alas, that' not the case.
I ride a 42 year old Harley and I know what it's like to tinker. But to be honest about tinkering on the old bike, knock on wood... it's been remarkably dependable for the past 4 or 5 years. Just change out the oil and filter and ride. Only one leak and that's on the trans output shaft. Harley saw fit to not use a seal on the shaft and inside hub, so it's no wonder they all leak there.
By the time I can afford a M3W, it may end up being a Gen 1. Trying to retire in 27 months and some things need to paid off first. So for now, we're tripling down on payments to pay the house off in another year along with our vehicles. It will be so nice to go into retirement without any major payments.
I really feel bad for some of you that have had the unfortunate luck of the draw on your particular M3W's. I'm sure that there are many out there still driving around with the old comps and even without the comfort kit on the steering.
I'm sorry to hear when someone bits the dust and sells their trike. From all the comments and videos, I am a firm believer that the M3W is a great FUN autocycle to drive.
Speaking of Autocycles, Missouri has just passed into law in August their version of the Autocycle category of licensed vehicles.
No motorcycle endorsement required, only a standard operator's license. Because we're a helmet law state, helmets are still required on an open top side by side or tandem with pedals and steering wheeled trikes. If it has an "approved" roof, helmets can be tossed. Not sure that the approved top is though. I see that Slingshots now have a roof option with somewhat of a roll cage built in. My assumptions are that it will meet the state's approved roof design.

People who have had a positive experience generally ignore forums. It kind of makes for an imbalance.
Do you know, you are quite right. Generally if you are happy with your purchase, whatever it may be, you just enjoy it however if it doesn't come up to expectations then quite rightly you have a good moan. This isn't the first time I've read bad things about the 3W, a mate of mine down the road had the same experience and got rid of it. It's a pity you had all these problems, I hope your next toy brings you more enjoyment.
