You're a star Calum! After a tour of Europe (Aberdeen-Amsterdam-Grindelwald-Madrid-Caramulo and back, God knows through where) I only needed to check a map to understand that the direct road back to Aberdeen doesn't pass through Glenshee ... unless you're still NOT tired of driving and, quite the opposite, you're still enjoying your trip, to the very end. That's close to heroic! PS - Checking the map to understand where you were and where Aberdeen is, I noticed a little to the north a beautiful town called ... Fraserburgh. What's with that, do you own the place? Have a Castle there? Great-great-great-great-grandfather has a statue? Do tell!

Made it! 4001 miles since I set off. 2 Problems along the way; one of the H4 LEDs in the headlights vibrated itself to bits but all the bits stayed together inside the headlamp bowl so went back together and the biggest problem was early in the trip when I got to the hotel in the Black Forest only to find that somewhere on the Autobahn my shampoo bottle had burst open in my toilet bag. Toothbrush taste really not good for a couple of days, apart from that everything just worked.

Mario, the people of Fraserburgh will be delighted. The word beautiful has rarely been used in any connection with their town! Inland from Aberdeen there is a Castle Fraser which also has nothing to do with me.

Mario, the people of Fraserburgh will be delighted. The word beautiful has rarely been used in any connection with their town! Inland from Aberdeen there is a Castle Fraser which also has nothing to do with me. Well done Callum for such an epic trip. I think 22 years ago I was on business up at Inverness and drove for a meeting in Fraserburgh without a hotel room booked and stopped and asked a guy at the petrol station on the approach to the town where the best place was to stay. He said to me "Well there is the Alexandra Hotel which is grim and the Station Hotel which is less grim - and that's it!!" So the Station Hotel it was. I was the only one staying there and they were actually very friendly even if the room was a 60's time warp. Next morning for breakfast the lady took my order for a full Scottish and I could then hear a car start up. About 45 minutes later and still no breakfast I heard a car come back and about 15 minutes later it appeared. I'm sure on the plate was a whole pack of sausages, pack of bacon, whole tin of beans, 4 eggs and the plate could have fed the 5000! I then realised I must haveeen the first person to stay in a while so they'd had to go out and get the food to cook my breakfast.

An epic trip Calum. That is an awful lot of miles to cover in a short time, especially considering that quite a bit of it was on ordinary roads and mountain passes that you have never seen before. Quite a test for the reliability of the M3W too! Nice to know the M3W is capable of such a long trip without any real problems. See you next time
