Hi all

What air filter do you recommend for my M3W? I would like to increase the power and looks of the engine.

Cheers

Jon

As I understand it, the stock drivetrain is outlet not inlet constrained. Did you already change the exhaust?
Meanwhile check out https://view.publitas.com/ss-cycle/dealer-catalog/page/454-455

You need to be looking at the exhaust side of things more than the air filter. There are offerings from MMC (Stage 1 system), G56 and Krazy Horse at the moment, plus one or two others that involve a bit more fabrication.

+1

I had the MMC stage 1 fitted in 2 stages – first the air filter which made no perceptible difference and I still had pinking at high revs.

Adding the exhausts transformed the car with smoother running, freer revving and no pinking.

Try cutting a 38mm hole in the front baffle on the standard exhausts first. You will need a hole saw & 2 x 30cm extensions to reach them. This will make the exhaust a bit more free flowing & a bit noisier but not a affect getting an MOT. Little cost & may be enough for you.

I fitted a Kylurakyn (?) Stealth intake with a K&N filer to my M3W

I imported it from a HD dealer in the USA as at that time you could not get the full conversion kit needed for UK.

It did make a difference IMO

I think Uncle Melvyn Rutter sells the kit now.

Thanks all. I am close to Williams Morgan but in face I live in Worcester so closer to MMC. Its going to them for a couple upgrades so will ask the questions as to if its had the stage 1 kit. I have noticed it does pink when giving it the beans. Sounds like stones being thrown onto the cowlings. Is this pinking harmful and does it need sorting?
