Went to BHM yesterday and had a short road test drive in the Roadster.
Coming from a 24 years old Plus 8, the Roadster was great. With MMC support the deal is quite good, but will I be happy to share £30k of the pension pot to move on? Heart says yes, but......??
Anyone have a view? Just fishing for thoughts

Ken clearly you have done all the pension sums already, just follow your heart and let go a little I'm sure you will love it. These cars should only be "driven by the heart" after all they are our second loves  . Like any affair of the heart you don't ever want to think what might have been  . Good luck with your decision making.

With all their faults and foibles, I still think the old Plus 8's are the Morgans to have. You'll regret it you know

With all their faults and foibles, I still think the old Plus 8's are the Morgans to have. You'll regret it you know I agree. Your old +8 performs as well as the Roadster. I have driven both. Use some of that 30,000 to Tart up Your +8. Buy some new shocks and maybe tires if You need them. Seats in My Opinion must be first class. Allon White makes very nice ones.

I guess it depends on how much is left once you've plundered the pension pot. 30k out of 35k? No, don't do it. $30k out of £300k? Go for it!

When I faced such a choice I went for the second Morgan option.......

Ken good to see you yesterday and like you I drove the roadster they wanted 24500 for a change regarding my 2015 car! My first impressions were yes smooth comfortable and quieter great holding on roundabouts and it was like driving on velvet at lower speeds. However it was similar to driving my Fiesta st turbo! On the way home in the mog after putting it in the garage I thought why do I want a car similar to the fiesta which I enjoy. Loved the drive home in Heidi which tells me more about the Road than the roadster does with that power steering! I did not buy the +4 for comfort I would dearly miss her narrow bodied smile so I am more than happy to keep her! Not sure if that helps or hinders your decision. As I have not yet driven a +8 (the only morgan I have not driven) I cannot comment further. But it will be interesting to hear what you decide! Roger

The Roadster is a fast reliable car. I love mine. But it doesn't have that V8 rumble, which is fine by me.
Trust your heart & decide.

Go for the Roadster you will not regret it, fabulous car, very fast and nippy in all gears

What does a newish Roadster do that your Plus 8 cannot? If there had been a continued supply of Rover V8s available post-2004 the Roadster probably wouldn't exist...
