To be fair even the thousand-mile checklist says it can be changed if the customer asks for it to be changed I guess I wasn't specific. One more piece of maintenance for me to do on a toy before the snow flies.

Took mine out yesterday pm, almost springlike weather. But that could almost be it for the year. Back to fettling other toys then.

I know what you mean Glenn, the temps are dropping here, too.
Yesterday I made a list of all the toys that need to be touched before winter, and its daunting!

Does anyone else have a squealing noise when they first start their cars when cold? It goes away upon pushing the clutch in. Only happens during the first cold start. If I have a clutch release bearing that is failing I would rather get it replaced under warranty.

Not sure if you have to have the clutch pressed to start the M3W or not. But if so, as soon as you start it in neutral and take your foot off the clutch, does the squeal go away?

The throwout bearing would only be spinning if the clutch were to pressed.

no I leave the clutch in to start, car in neutral.
the squeal goes away when I press the clutch in. and also goes away when the car warms up.

That's weird.

If your foot is OFF the pedal, the throwout bearing should not be in contact with the pressure plate.

Obviously it's related to the clutch in some way, but it's backasswards to what you would think it should do if it's bad.
